People search answers, tips, solutions and everything in between. People use the web to learn, share and buy. Google can be seen as a facilitator in that process. Making it easier for people to find the information that will give them the most suitable answer.

Often, it is forgotten that web pages are for people and not the spiders.

Writing content for the search engines defeats the purpose in my opinion. If you are having conversations with people, your stuff will be found regardless of whether it has keywords or not, or whether it is highly ranked or not.

This post was about using content to make money. There are lots of sites out there that contain lots of content - content that has been written by well meaning people , but...

The purpose of content is to demonstrate your expertise so your prospects want to come back for more, call you and hire you or refer you to their colleagues and friends. So, if your content doesn't say much, then nothing much will happen.

Hi Karen

When we are talking about content are we referring to how a client reads the site or how search engines index the content on the site. I know hopefully both add up to the same thing, ie more work, but do you have to tailor your content to fit how google indexes content?

Many thanks Grant

Thanks Lucas

Yes, teleseminars are a great way of promoting services particularly in the run up to a course or programme.

I also use teleseminars and webinars to deliver programmes and keep in touch.

Thanks Sandra.

Consistency across the forums is essential. People may well be reading through your entries as Google found them and we have no control of what it finds and when. Sometimes, we may have a profile that is year old and Google lists it as if it is new.

Adding comments really works but it does take time. Another way of making it work better is give full comments. These comments can form the basis of a blog post or article for posting elsewhere.

Relationships come alive when there is some 1 on 1 time. Be clear who you want to have these with because, you can't do everyone and run your business.

Hi Karen

Fortunately, all of them. But need to work on the consistency approach.

Good easy to read tips, as ever.

Thanks, Karen
