A great post, thanks, Karen.

If I can add one ... transparency. Marketing has been shifting away from hype to authenticity and I think being more transparent or as upfront and genuine as you can as a marketer will be key to doing business in 2010.

Cheers, and a Happy New Year to you!

Yes I use animoto too. There is one showing the contents of MaxWeb programme on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVEIkpsyuI4

There are some issues with this software though and one that I will be resolving for my clients in the new year!

Great predictions.

Re No 5: Video is used more and more.

I'm using video platforms such as animoto.com to produce basic 'images to music' videos - the 30-sec vids are free - you can sample them on my Facebook page or on twitter.com/AlanWilliamson or my blog: http://brandopia.typepad.com

Please let me know what you think?

Thanks Jeremy. Your comments are spot on. I think it does depend upon your market as to the types of recommendations made. These suggestions are for those small businesses who are looking to piece their through the myriad of options rather than already being there and looking for the latest thing.

With Android and the improved Windows Mobile I'm not expecting the iPhone to be so distinctive in the market this year. No doubt that Smart is the direction for now and competition will be good for progress.

Online SEO + content + links is still the basis for organic rankings, though the engagement factors in content are expected to feature more strongly in algorythms. What with all the competition on the web, successful drivers should become more network based, both on and offline.

We're now seeing content presented in a much more natural language and I'd be interested in how people are quantifying results from their different media and social media efforts.
